Women's Western Amateur 1968 (The Broadmoor, Colorado Springs)

This championship was one of those played during the summer of 1968 to learn how to play match-play better because I preferred medal-play because this formula, in my opinion, was fairer because in 72 holes, in principle the best Players had a better chance of beating their opponents when in 18 holes you could always find yourself in front of a player who was part of her life.
So during the summer I defended my 1967 US Open title, in Moselem Springs finishing 9th, then I played the USGA Amateur in Birmingham and two championships at Broadmoor, Colorado Springs including the US Women's Western Amateur that I won against Martha Wilkinson in the final. This championship was considered one of the most important amateur competitions in the USA.
