The first major championship in 1964 was the World Team Championship with Brigitte Varangot, Claudine Cros, and Lally Segard as captain. We won by Teams and I was tied for 1st in individual score with American Carol Sorenson.

I was narrowly selected by playing 36 holes a month earlier against Odile Semelaigne (Garaïalde at the time).

I was just starting to play at the level of this kind of championship.

The championship was the first to be played and it was at the Golf de Saint Germain near Paris from October 1 to 4, 1964.

It was very close against the USA in particular, with Barbara McIntire, Barbara Fay White, and Carol Sorenson.

Kiki Larretche had come from Saint Jean-de-Luz to make my caddy and the lining of his brand new beret did not resist because of all the beret tricks he made him do because of the tension of the championship!

It was a magical moment surrounded by my family and friends! Especially during the distribution of prizes hearing the Marseillaise!
